NVIDIA NForce NVRAID SMART Disk Details
The NVIDIA NForce RAID built into my ASUS motherboard (M2N32-SLI) is not a great RAID solution compared to most dedicated RAID controler cards. And one of the most serious shortcomings is the NVIDIA Media Shield software's inability to show you the detailed S.M.A.R.T drive details.
One solution is CrystalDiskInfo. This tool allows you to see the full SMART details for each drive in the RAID array. For my Windows 7 system I installed the 6.2.2 Standard Edition and the 64bit Extensions.
When installing the Standard Edition, be sure to select the "Custom Install" and uncheck the options to install the AVG Toolbar.
Once the setup is done, copy the files from the 64bit extension ZIP file (CrystalDiskInfo....x64Pack.zip) and paste/replace them into the same directory where you did the install.
Now run the program, and select Function -> Advanced Feature -> Advanced Disk Search
And you can see the SMART details for all of your RAID array drives.
